Fav Tracks: War Pigs, Paranoid, Planet Caravan, Hand of Doom
'Paranoid' is just such a great metal album, it's a metal album that's effectively simple and also one that withstood the test of time extremely well. The guitar riffs are heavy, lively and memorable, while the percussion compliments them really well. Ozzy's lyricism on here is just amazing, his shouty and bold verses are so vivid, politically charged and rebellious. With classics such as Paranoid and Iron Man, there was no way this could be anything less than stellar. Despite not being able keep me interested for the entirety of it's 40 minute runtime, it is remarkably consistent. It doesn't matter what the band happens to be doing, there is nothing bland about Paranoid. And the cover art is god-tier. I AM GEMANN! (Has he lost his mind?)
