Not only a remarkable introduction to the great Stevie wonder but an absolute favourite album of mine. Balancing the genres of funk and soul, Wonder was able to craft and awe-inspiring feet not only for the genres but music as a whole. The song/writing and instrumentation played here are top-notch. A must listen for any music lovers in general.

This album definitely snuck up on me, as I didn't expect the soulfulness to really reverberate so smoothly. There shouldn't be any surprise given the name tied to the album; however, for someone who is unfamiliar with the artists work, the art felt fresh and stopped me to really soak in the vibes on a few occasions.

Every track here is downright perfect. Stevie further proves his genius by crafting songs that are rich and textured yet groovy and fun. What makes this album special however, is it's ability to blend Stevie's soulful pop perfection with social concious. Songs like 'In The City' and 'Misstra Know It All' still feel relevant today. This album has so much heart and it's executed so flawlessly. My love for this album cannot be overstated. This is an absolute classic.

This was a great album. There were some soulful moments, but a lot of light-hearted, jubilant songs. It covered issues of the day, while also heading into fun tracks. One of the most interesting things was the fact so many of the songs revolved around visuals cues, referencing colors and beauty. Instances found were mentioned at the end of song reviews.

One of the most amazing things, if it is accurate, is that one source claims that Stevie Wonder performed EVERY instrument in some songs. On ... read more

Great album that this is, I have in mind "Songs in the Key of Life"as the ultimate Stevie wonder album. Why would that one be left out of user review 70's list?
Oh well, Wonder is good for more than one classic, surely.
I found his covers always somewhat problematic.
