It declared its own greatness with songs and a sound that lived up to Springsteen's promise, and though some thought it took itself too seriously, many found that exalting.
This classic artist has what is widely considered his best album here, and for understandable reasons. Although I wouldn't imagine I would sit around and listen to Springsteen too often on my own, this album is easily a worthwhile listen in terms of catching all of the most critically acclaimed works over the last century; a statement of the times and a unique and powerful songwriter all wrapped into one cohesive project.
