Enjoyed this waaaay more than I thought I would. This album is very intentionally not-flashy sans maybe the great organ opening up 'Chest Fever', showing the Doors how its done, so it's hard to pinpoint what makes it work so well. It balances the Americana with the more straightforward rock very well and the songwriting is interesting most of the time. Something really fun is that "the Weight" which is also the bands biggest song is about the area I grew up in.
