Incredibly safe and boring for an artist as experimental and cutting edge as Richard.

I can see people think why this thing is boring, I mean I can’t say those people are wrong but this is a pleasant listen.

The most boring release from Richard yet. Loops and lack of variation bring this EP down, even with a few catchy and enjoyable sections.

Richard D. James is back with another Aphex Twin release. The Cheetah EP is most certainly not distant to the sound he offered on Syro, as we see the legendary producer following pretty much the same complex, cold techno-inspired direction on his obtuse beats. That being said, it is easy to see this EP as an unecessary work this late in his career, but it is possible to find it inspiring that James is slowly, quietly moving towards a specific musical spot with this comeback. ☆☆☆ ~ Decent and quite original work in which coexist a latent creativity of interesting but inconclusive ideas with some subtle irregular and boring passages.

It's not terrible, but highly forgettable and boring.

EDIT: I actually ended up dropping this one from the library. Like I say below: some solid ambient techno tracks here, but nothing you can't find elsewhere, really. As a whole, Cheetah lacks the boundless creativity that defines the best Aphex releases for me.

Easily the worst thing Aphex Twin has ever commercially released. An interesting sound for a couple of tracks but definitely not worth a half an hour of your time. Bored me to tears but it might make decent study music I guess

it's cool! it's pretty good! it's also his most boring work compared to anything else! drags on too long at times but it certainly isn't bad

fav tracks: cirklon3, cirklon 1, 2x202-st5
least fav track: ???

Still got it! this has got to be Twin's most tame release, as in the slowest burn of IDM. it really stands as an outliner in the city of Aphex Twin releases, therefore I think its quite special and definitely one of my favourites from him, it sounds like he's not losing his mind anymore, which is both good and bad for fans.
