After The Smith’s incredible debut, they compiled B-Sides and different sessions all into one project and I wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest to say that it is one of the best compilations of all time.

Hatful of Hollow has B-Sides that are to the quality of the tracks on the album. Songs like “William, It Was Really Nothing”, “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now” and of course one of their most recognized songs “How Soon Is Now?”.

In the mid-80s, I met a guy who later turned out to be one of Honolulu's legendary rock guitar players and the front of the legendary band, Hat Makes The Man. His name is Peter Bond. disregarding the Peele sessions of tracks already established on the first album (which are excellent and offer those tracks new perspectives), the new material on this album is just superb, and arguably is the strongest string of tracks The Smiths ever compiled. "How Soon Is Now" is an alien of a track that sounds as chaotic as it does soothing, whilst "Handsome Devil" is about as good as you can make a pop song. Girl Afraid swaggers in with surf-rock vibes.
