Probably the greatest compilation of all time

I'm not even joking with that title, I mean, woah, every single track that comes from an album is beyond amazing, but, the B-sides are just something else.

Some of the most iconic and greatest Smiths' songs are in here, "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" and "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" are easily two of the best songs from the band, and don't even get me started with "How Soon Is Now?" by far, one of ... read more
so good. so so so good. a couple songs that aren't top tier, but so good.
This is the Pokémon Platinum to the Smith's self-titled debut's Diamond and Pearl, i.e., the update that fixed everything and cemented The Smith's as THE indie-pop band. After The Smith’s incredible debut, they compiled B-Sides and different sessions all into one project and I wouldn’t hesitate in the slightest to say that it is one of the best compilations of all time.

Hatful of Hollow has B-Sides that are to the quality of the tracks on the album. Songs like “William, It Was Really Nothing”, “Heaven Knows I’m Miserable Now” and of course one of their most recognized songs “How Soon Is Now?”.

In the mid-80s, I met a guy who later turned out to be one of Honolulu's legendary rock guitar players and the front of the legendary band, Hat Makes The Man. His name is Peter Bond. Before he went off to manage for Sherriff Norm over @ Jelly's he was @ Hungry Ear [HE]. That's where I met him. Super nice fellow.
