The controlled chaos of the noisy, cluttered instrumentals on ‘Dogsbody’ lend themselves well to shockingly catchy, memorable bangers. The post-punk influences of tracks like “Crossing Guard” provide direction within these manic compositions. This is also helped by eccentric vocal performances, ranging from the monotone delivery of “Donkey Show” to the the wild eccentricities of “Mosquito,” bouncing between pitches and tones at will.

Ehhhhhhhh, It's decent but it doesn't do a lot for me. It's well produced, the vocalist has a great voice, but I don't know. It feels like it's way too polished in a sense that it feels shallow, like it packs a punch of good noise rock, but it seems to miss something to fully make it work and make it captivating? like a puzzle missing a piece for lack of a better comparison. Like damn I wish I could enjoy this more but unfortunately not the case, it misses that impact that a good noise rock ... read more
this is so gut-wrenching and i love it so much (maybe too much lmao)
dogsbody makes me feel like im being penetrated by satan (dont ask)
i adore this album so fucking much, AOTY for me so far
if it werent for divers this would be a 10 for sure
Most fav track: any of the first 4 songs they're all 10/10
Least fav track: Divers (like a 9/10
Content: Hadn't ever heard of this band until Fantano was playing them on new music Friday a month or so ago. I also saw this record get a lot of positive praise from RYM and Pitchfork so I went into this with an expectation of a solid project. This expectation was definitely met. The first three songs are all extremely dark, dirty, and bizarre feeling but somehow sound great. My favorite moment on the record is the closing track Sun In. It is much softer and slower than the majority of the ... read more

Sex has always played a bigger role in the queer community than a lot of people might think. I’m a gay person. I identify as gay, and I even have my very own boyfriend to prove it. A lot of my friends are also gay or identify as queer in some shape or form and I think I’ve seen most of them naked or even have had sexual interactions with them. To a lot of people that may seem really weird but this isn’t uncommon at all ... read more
Masterfully produced noise rock, minus a couple acoustic ballads which are equally impactful. I'd love to hear more music from the group in the future.
100 out of 100.
I'm glad for all of you that like this, I do think this band is technically good, and I congratulate this band for quickly capturing a fanbase. Personally, I am just tired of this wave of industrial rock. It's similar to the post-punk revival thing that's happening: it was somewhat fulfilling in the late 2010s, but even then it was obvious and derivative. Now we have albums like these, where if you're severely itching for more Daughters-esque stuff then this is an easy sell. I'm not. Chat Pile ... read more
Claustrophobic dread filled music that's gasping for air. The vocals are angular and unpredictable (Xiu Xiu esque). This makes the album very emotional. It is explosive and can get very loud. It is visceral and groovy. I love it's no wave influence. It literally made my hair stand on end. Terror is wonderfully conveyed on this album. I particularly enjoyed 'Donkey Show', 'Mosquito', 'Pure Mode', 'Maria', and 'Sleepless'.
Creative, Uncomfortable, Addictive and all well rounded off by a super charismatic vocalist.
I was pleasantly surprised upon first listen and have found myself revisiting way more than I expected.
Totally stinkin my type of music, freaking love this garbage noisy and variation, and heavy, AOTY for me so far
It’s possible that I’m just over the crankwave thing and that’s why this album didn’t do it for me, but yeah… not bad but seems overrated :/
yuppp the lyricism the energy the performance everything here is so perfect; there’s a lot of potential here, excited to see where they go. personally preferred the first half of the album but it was still so good
I'm guessing the dildo just represents how hard this album fucks?
Yeah, this is absolutely one of the coolest releases of the year so far. Through this explosively freakish debut, Model/Actriz bring a dauntingly unique style to the table, taking heavy influence from various distinct places and bringing everything together in an incredibly satisfying and coarsely smooth way, if that juxtaposition makes any sense. Through pounding drums, chunky basslines, screeching guitar leads and frantically ... read more
Favorite Tracks : Donkey Show, Mosquito, Crossing Guard, Amaranth, Pure Mode, Maria
Least Favorite Track : Sleepless
I heard about this album and saw that a lot of people loved it, during the time that this album released I was really tired of listening to music and didn't check it out, I'm currently checking out albums I missed out on from the past few months and remembered about this album, I decided to listen to it today to see what all the hype was about and it deserves every single bit of praise it has been getting lately.
Model/Actriz's debut album "Dogsbody" is a terrifying and noisy album ... read more
The production on this thing is amazing, but Cole's vocals are so underwhelming to me. So much so that this album is just a meh for me, even tho I understand it's beauty.
