14ème album du groupe, autrefois produit par Laurence Tholhurst de Cure. Pas une ride. Au contraire. Un album pur, inspiré, passant de la folk au post-punk tranquille, comme posé loin du tumulte. Avec Magazine et Wire, la vieille garde montre qu'elle en a encore sous le pied.

And Also The Trees return with another really interesting and evocative work, Born Into the Waves. This new phase of the veterans follows the folk ambitions of Laurence Tolhurst, rather than the poetic post-punk that started their trajectory, back in the 80s. This album still sounds quite gloomy and mystic, but in a different way. And Also The Trees [AATT] maintain their characteristic romantic Gothic sound less the intense urgency found in their erstwhile releases. Still, brothers Justin & Simon Huw Jones are able to put forth an album of distinct music uniquely their own. Two standout tracks, Seasons And The Storms & Bridges keep it true to form even if a bit mellowed & mature.
