The most Bob Dylan sounding Bob Dylan album that Bob Dylan ever made.
New Morning is mostly a return to form for Dylan. After a few country albums and changing up his vocal style, he decides to go back to his roots, return his normal nasally voice, and returns to a sound that is closer to folk than the previous two records. While there are still some elements of country in here, this is definitely him beginning to move away from that phase of his career.

This album started very slowly indeed but got better and better as it went along. The sound is quite eclectic, but despite this is much more coherent and consistent than Self Portrait.
Essential Track - The Man in Me
While a step in the right direction, Dylan feels like he is on Autopilot on this record
New morning is a really mediocre Dylan project that mostly left me with nothing. It doesn’t at all feel essential, but it’s not really bad either for the most part. It’s just totally mediocre.
