The Line of Best Fit

A Fistful Of Peaches is a refreshingly honest offering from the indie rock scene, and Black Honey make for the perfect couriers.

DIY
On ‘A Fistful of Peaches’ Black Honey have doubled down on what’s worked for them to date, while offering a glimpse at potential future directions.
80
Upset
Black Honey display an abundance of character throughout ‘A Fistful of Peaches’ – whether the character is radical rock band or nostalgic references to YouTube videos from 2007.
70
Clash
Cinematic splashes with honest lyricism feature in the twelve-track production and there is one thing this writer can tell about ‘A Fistful Of Peaches'. It’s all about escaping the war in the mind, something that helps make Black Honey a band to admire.
70
Gigwise
A progression from their first two records to further solidify their standing within the indie mainstream.
60
The Telegraph
Nobody Knows is a strumming, lachrymose tambourine-shimmer paean to the bleakest shadows of who we are, the stories we don’t tell. If only the band had dared to follow this direction more consistently and thoroughly, it could have been stellar.

The Arts Desk
They’re deft hands at writing catchy pop songs.

A mature record, you can feel the group having taken place, the guys from Brighton have picked up the perfect pace, now it's indie mainstream, we are waiting for a response from their London colleagues Wolf Alice.

'A Fistful of Peaches' is an awesome indie rock album that's going severely under the radar right now.

This is the third studio LP from British four-piece band Black Honey, with female vocalist Izzy Baxter Phillips. I find it hard not to fall in love with the catchy and gritty melodies and guitar riffs off of songs like Charlie Bronson and Rock Bottom. This record feels super exciting and rebellious in all the right ways, and should be a must-listen for any indie fans.

REVIEW #49: A Fistful Of Peaches by Black Honey

This is a more than solid alternative rock album to jive with. I think many tracks on here remind be a bit of Guster, but with sort of a garage rock/post-punk revival aesthetic to it

There are some songs that do sound more generic and less punchy than others; I think tracks like Weirdos and I'm a Man have some of the weaker choruses and guitar riffs of this album. And I also think the song Heavy leans a bit too much towards a pop rock sound, as ... read more

Another really good record from Black Honey, taking their inspired sound from previous generations and making it still feel fresh, I have a feeling that this will turn into an AOTY contender just like their last record as the year progresses.

Best Songs: 'Heavy', 'Cut The Cord', 'Charlie Bronson'.
