A mature record, you can feel the group having taken place, the guys from Brighton have picked up the perfect pace, now it's indie mainstream, we are waiting for a response from their London colleagues Wolf Alice.

'A Fistful of Peaches' is an awesome indie rock album that's going severely under the radar right now.
This is the third studio LP from British four-piece band Black Honey, with female vocalist Izzy Baxter Phillips. I find it hard not to fall in love with the catchy and gritty melodies and guitar riffs off of songs like Charlie Bronson and Rock Bottom. This record feels super exciting and rebellious in all the right ways, and should be a must-listen for any indie fans.
I like the creativity they've gone for in this but it's a very mixed bag of solid tracks and flops to my ears. Tracks like "Heavy" and "Out of My Mind" are brilliantly created, holstering the Indie Rock feel I love so. I've not found myself as enthralled as I'd like to have been. The vocalist has a style that's on the same style as Pale Waves and the sassiness bites at the right times. It's a good release, but it's still quite good, especially with those banger tracks.
'A Fistful Of Peaches' cumpre o que promete e se mostra um álbum de Indie Rock confortável. Ele não tem nada de muito novo ou experimental, mas consegue apresentar boas canções, às vezes prendidas a fórmula que dá certo, mas ainda capazes de criarem interesse. O terceiro disco de Black Honey consegue ser compacto, gerando uma linearidade consistente, por isso, as estruturas são similares; o que por um lado cansa quando pela quinta ... read more
REVIEW #49: A Fistful Of Peaches by Black Honey
This is a more than solid alternative rock album to jive with. I think many tracks on here remind be a bit of Guster, but with sort of a garage rock/post-punk revival aesthetic to it
There are some songs that do sound more generic and less punchy than others; I think tracks like Weirdos and I'm a Man have some of the weaker choruses and guitar riffs of this album. And I also think the song Heavy leans a bit too much towards a pop rock sound, as ... read more
This album is fine. I have no real problem with it. It's like vanilla ice cream; nice but not what you would pick if you had other choices.
If I want indie pop with sincere female vocals, I'll meander over to this record: https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/8399-howling-bells-howling-bells.php because it's much much better.
Essential Track - Bummer
A fun Alternative rock album that does not take itself seriously and Black Honey continues their love for cinema from references and titles. Good Stuff
The kind of British indie rock that wouldn’t have felt out of place during the mid 2010s. A Fistful of Peaches doesn’t have a lot of replay value to me as a whole project but Cut the Cord and OK are good tracks that capture that sort of alternative, bittersweet summer anthem sound. I’m sure any fan of the band or the genre will get a lot out of this album but for me it’s just fine and I’ll probably forget the majority but at least it’s not a bad listen
Captivating at times, I still left this album a bit underwhelmed. There was nothing that stood out to me as wholeheartedly unique. Still, if you are looking for a bit of a punk-adjacent sound, then this album checks that box.

It's... fine I guess.
I enjoyed listening to it, but afterwards I couldn't really think of anything memorable.
Third albums a charm for the Brighton based indie alt rockers as A Fistful Of Peaches is the band at their absolute finest. Their sound has tightened and developed tenfold since their last album, with a more focused and directional approach to making some of the most infectious and memorable indie rock I’ve heard in a long time.
Let’s just talk about the mass amount of fantastic singles we had pre-release which initially hyped me up in the first place for this album. Album opener ... read more

Such a strong and energetic album with an astounding sound design/mixing behind it. Loved every second of it as a whole and had so much fun while ... read more
a sweet and fun little indie pop record, but not one that really stands out in any particular way.
highlight tracks: "heavy," "out of my mind"
This album is good, inoffensive indie rock music and that's not a bad thing. There's nothing that completely stands out about it, it has some nice guitar riffs and fun melodies but I do struggle to discern between a creative sound choice and poor engineering at points. The guitars can seem thin, hollow, and wollowy, & the vocals can seem over-distorted but also completely overwhelmed and hidden by the instrumental & the drums can be flat at points. This could be a creative choice that I ... read more
A cheerful revival of porn-blues and garage rock in the best traditions of The Dead Weather and The Kills, led by our generation's Courtney Love, Izzy Bee Phillips, with lyrics about grrrl power and mental health.

Another really good record from Black Honey, taking their inspired sound from previous generations and making it still feel fresh, I have a feeling that this will turn into an AOTY contender just like their last record as the year progresses.
Best Songs: 'Heavy', 'Cut The Cord', 'Charlie Bronson'.
With Black Honey’s uniqueness being heavily compromised, their third instalment appears to be the weakest.

Having not heard of Black Honey or Izzy Bee Phillips, I found this album to be a great introduction. Not just this, I find this project sets itself apart with its pretty unique takes on indie/pop rock. Could definitely do better sequencing between the sections and ideas that are at play, as the genre it's all tied into. It left me waiting for a chorus in a song like an opener, but knowing it's going to sound super awkward jumping into it from the section that is playing. The band is 100% on the ... read more
