I love Americana way more, than i love America, Caffe Americano and Lady Gaga's Americano.
Aly & AJ describe this record as a postcard to their fans; something they can listen to anywhere that brings the concert to them. Usually I do not buy what artists sell in this department but I think the Michalka sisters hit the nail on the head here. The songs on With Love From are laid out like snapshots on a canvas, encompassing their own moments in life and the intense feelings attached to them. Moments of hope, moments of despair. Moments of ecstasy, moments of exhaustion. What may ... read more
With Love From brings a different kind of calmness from the rest of their albums. It feels like your mental health is falling apart, but you're too tired to do something about it, so you just go with the flow.

The Veronicas
Avril Lavigne
Ashlee Simpson
Despite featuring charmless commonalities with some of today's mainstream pop, the duo's new album attains a higher ground because of the warmth that permeates works of Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt and Joan Baez. Like those timeless acts, it's rooted in the past but it creeps into the future. Lyrically, this motif is spread throughout the album with both opener and closer as epitomes. From a musical standpoint the album isn't solely composed of highlights but it's a beautiful presented with ... read more
Aly & AJ release a very enjoyable Americana album with a lot of different jams to show they still got it, but there are times in the album that feel riddles with unecessary Pop Hooks and oversaturated cliches to make it stand out amongst what has come out this year. I still enjoyed a couple tracks including With Love From and Sunchoke but it is a solid album .

Aly & Aj return this year with the nostalgic sun drenched inspired With Love From that carries a more softer and relaxed vibe than their previous album. The Michalka sisters are entwined as one in their beautiful harmonies, growing such great back and forth relationship with their vocals that I’ve continuously see grow over the years since their comeback. It’s such a beautiful thing to hear, and it’s been an absolute joy to see these sisters grow as artists and in a ... read more
Desde a produção, vocais, arranjos e letras é notório o quão bem feito esse ... read more
The vibes are real. It's such a smooth listen with some neo soul tracks. A bit copy-paste in the production department in terms of song progression but it services the album well enough! Echoey vocals and instrumentals really give an atmospheric feel that I really enjoy. Open to Something, Talking in my sleep , 6 Months of Staring into the sun❤️
My queens are back!!!! I enjoy this just as much as their previous album. Lyrically it's nothing too crazy, but sonically I can't help but throw my cowboy hat on and sway to the music.
This is so pandered to my lesbian music taste, I love it.
Favorites: Open to Something and That Something Is You, With Love From
it's cute and inoffensive, but nothing all that special. a pleasant, relaxing listen overall.
A slight misstep after “a touch of the beat…”, but overall enjoyable, with their approach at Americana being done pretty tastefully

The beauty of following new releases on AOTY is that I have turned up loads of artists completely new to me. Aly & AJ are one of those who I’d never heard of before. Reading the review in Paste it turns out their back catalogue is pretty eclectic, but on this album they have embraced country with some indie pop flourishes. I have to say it’s a very pleasant listen without unearthing anything earthshattering. I may re-visit if I ever need cheering up; it has a nice, soothing ... read more
A beautiful vibe throughout, this americana/folk pop approach from Aly & AJ fits their talents rather perfectly in my opinion. Granted, it does not revolutionize anything - this does not deter me from really enjoying it, however. I hope this is a direction that they continue to follow.
Thanks, but it's quite forgettable.
"With Love From" is pretty and pleasant (just like Aly & Aj's previous record) but very rarely takes you to the emotional heights "a touch of the beat..." does.
No highlights.
Quite honestly such a beautiful record. Not quite as good as their previous one but still a recommendation to listen to. It feels like the duo has found their sound and niche and digging deep into it.
