Aly & AJ’s return to music hit a momentous high on their excellent follow-up to some remarkable EPs: a touch of the beat gets you up on your feet gets you out and then into the sun, and that consistency shined through and through. It keeps us fans, but as fans, we also understand what we like and don’t, so for their follow-up, With Love From comes with incredible highs, continuing that consistency with potent new directions that elevates the craft beyond pop. Shifting from the ... read more

Exceedingly OK. Incredibly listenable. Ultimately forgettable but pleasant.

Despite featuring charmless commonalities with some of today's mainstream pop, the duo's new album attains a higher ground because of the warmth that permeates works of Fleetwood Mac, Linda Ronstadt and Joan Baez. Like those timeless acts, it's rooted in the past but it creeps into the future. Lyrically, this motif is spread throughout the album with both opener and closer as epitomes. From a musical standpoint the album isn't solely composed of highlights but it's a beautiful presented with ... read more

Pop duo Aly and AJ made their return in 2021 with “A Touch Of The Beat…” and they are back with another new release in 2023 with “With Love From”. The album has very warm and textured production which reminds me a lot of female singers of the 90s. The two singers have good harmonies with each other, singing songs about love and relationships in a more mature light now that the sisters are in their 30s. The album has a very folky feel with a dash of indie rock. ... read more

When Alyson and Amanda Michalka became teenage stars at the end of the '00s, they materialized the worst kind of music that the Disney pop era ever gave us.

Twenty years later, the sisters, now in their thirties, who surprisingly returned to form with their successful 2021 record "a touch of the beat...", continue to develop their musicality. On "With Love From," they meet us somewhere between Stevie Nicks and Kacey Musgraves to bring us 40 minutes of sincerely ... read more

My queens are back!!!! I enjoy this just as much as their previous album. Lyrically it's nothing too crazy, but sonically I can't help but throw my cowboy hat on and sway to the music.

To be completely honest, I was yawning my way through this entire album. The singing was good, but the songs just felt so basic that it was difficult to even get through. Definitely won’t be revisiting.

Aly & AJ release a very enjoyable Americana album with a lot of different jams to show they still got it, but there are times in the album that feel riddles with unecessary Pop Hooks and oversaturated cliches to make it stand out amongst what has come out this year. I still enjoyed a couple tracks including With Love From and Sunchoke but it is a solid album .

A beautiful vibe throughout, this americana/folk pop approach from Aly & AJ fits their talents rather perfectly in my opinion. Granted, it does not revolutionize anything - this does not deter me from really enjoying it, however. I hope this is a direction that they continue to follow.

Desde a produção, vocais, arranjos e letras é notório o quão bem feito esse ... read more

It’s good, don’t get me wrong, I like the writing, the general production on this album is pretty good. It’s a bit too long, but it’s alright, nothing to complain about.

That’s the problem too, it doesn’t try hard or do anything great, it’s just pretty good in all aspects that it seems to blend in at times and the catchy choruses get redundant the farther along you go. The beginning is good, but after 20 minutes, it gets pretty repetitive, still good, ... read more

A slight misstep after “a touch of the beat…”, but overall enjoyable, with their approach at Americana being done pretty tastefully

Its okey it feels like a good follow up of A Touch Of The Beat but it's more relaxed and less pop than that

Thanks, but it's quite forgettable.

"With Love From" is pretty and pleasant (just like Aly & Aj's previous record) but very rarely takes you to the emotional heights "a touch of the beat..." does.

No highlights.

A lovely, gentle album that is easy to listen to, the incorporation of soft rock elements elevates this otherwise pleasant album to a new level, along with the gentle voices, great production choices and impressive lyrical skill, Aly & Aj deliver a sonically stunning project.
