Nick is in full preacher mode for parts of this record and it is a joy to behold. His vocal delivery here straddles all of the different eras of his career and is spectacular. The production has always felt a little off for me on this LP and accordingly the score suffers a little because of it, but this is rollocking good fun and has one of his all time great songs on it.

Essential Track - Straight To You

"Henry's Dream" isn't the most consistent Nick Cave record, but it's still very entertainingly-written and enjoyable throughout, with lots of stories to tell and, despite the band rejecting it, it's still another great in his discography.

Fav Tracks: I Had a Dream, Joe; Straight to You; Brother, My Cup Is Empty; Jack the Ripper; Papa Won't Leave You, Henry; Loom of the Land

Least Fav Track: John Finn's Wife

First 4 tracks are amazing, after that the album is definitely less consistent but still good with the occasional song that matches the quality of the first 4. Great album.

Favorites: Papa Won't Leave You, Henry; Straight to You; I Had a Dream, Joe; John Finn's Wife; Brother, My Cup Is Empty

My Dad's fav album so i'm a little biased. While super messy at parts it just goes hard af imo. I love that drunken chaos he portrays here. Good one Dad
