Jeff Kinney provides a surprising level of emotional depth on his first full length novel "Diary of a wimpy kid" creating a relatable and outrageously funny experience that millions of kids will be able to enjoy.

Because I am going to see Sleater-Kinney on March 2nd, I wanted to catch up on their short and sweet discography so I can come prepared to jam out to one of the most underrated female rock acts still around. Sleater-Kinney's debut album came out after PJ Harvey and Hole were making a huge splash on the music industry and more underground acts like Bikini Kill were finding success in the punk scene. I really dig the energy of Sleater-Kinney’s first record. It’s super easy to see how the band were able to outgrow their local roots so quickly. A lot of Olympia’s most fondly remembered artists had a raw, unrefined sound about them, but Corin Tucker’s lead chemistry with Brownstein and the glue that is Janet Weiss’ drumming set them apart and on the path to become something genuinely special.
