I don’t know how to start out this review, so uhhhh... Let’s just get into it

The production on this album is really different from the other Outkast albums, where those albums productions are spacey, but stay the roots to southern hip-hop beats, the production on this album is more poppy and in a way, kind of alternative? It sort of reminds of Gorillaz’s Demon Days in a way, but not nearly as dark and grimy as that album.

This album is way more poppier than the previous ... read more

MASTAPEECE!

*EDIT: I DON'T KNOW HOW. BUT IT'S BECOME ONE OF MY FAVOURITE ALBUMS. B.O.B. IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE SONGS OF ALL TIME. THIS IS BIG BOI'S BEST PERFORMANCE. ANDRE KILLS IT EVERYTIME HE'S ON THE MIC. WHAT THE HELL?

Underappreciated classic, both Big Boi and 3000 play off each other well, very rarely overshadowing one another on the project. I swear I could listen to these guys rap all day. The personality, the production that I can genuinely call experimental and alienated. Never a ... read more

20+ Songs? Yup

70+ minutes? I wish it were longer

Does it feel like a chore? Not once

Stankonia is a sublime funk/hip-hop moment that proves just because something is long doesn't mean it is terrible. OutKast push their incredible sound to new commercial heights. It is bursting at the seams with original songs, funny skits, and excellent guest spots. 'B.O.B.' is one of the best songs and holds up to this day; I honestly stop what I am doing and just smile at the speed and sounds passing ... read more

Good

Being the first Outkast record I've listened to, I can't say I'm disappointed! With it's astounding collection of beats and very memorable bars from Big Boy and Andre 3000, 'Stankonia' is an interesting and eclectic listening experience from the Georgia hip-hop duo.

Color: Black
FAV TRACKS: Ms. Jackson, ?, Gasoline Dreams, Gangsta Shit, Humble Mumble, Snappin' & Trappin', B.O.B.
LEAST FAV: Spaghetti Junction

Even more bewildering to me than the Aquemini hype is the distaste towards Stankonia. It’s by no means hated, but I don’t understand why it’s so widely considered to be underwhelming in the face of their other works.

For me, Stankonia users Outkast at their most refined, varied, exciting and fun. It’s full of A-list features, phenomenal production that does so much to change up their traditional work without losing anything that made them great (more so cutting what ... read more

I hate to say this, but Stankonia hasn't aged as well as ATliens or Aquemini. It sounds outdated at some points and it can be a bit irritating or even boring. Still mostly the songs are good, but nothing special compared to other OutKast albums. I would say this is a bit overrated atm. And yeah Stankonia has few amazing songs and mostly good songs, but it's too long and not as good as their other stuff

Reminds me of The College Dropout. Some great OutKast songs but it could do without all the skits.

Featuring tracks that will likely top a casual fans list when asked what their favorite OutKast songs are, outside of the obvious hits this album is terribly spotty. While certainly a fun listen overall, Stankonia didn't seem to go through the same quality control that their 90s albums, especially the latter two, went through.

Key tracks: "Gasoline Dreams", "So Fresh, So Clean", "Ms. Jackson", "Spaghetti Junction", "B.O.B.", "Gangsta ... read more

powerful, vigorous, fun, emotional; this album has a pretty nice variety of tracks, Big Boi And Dre have a really strong chemistry and charisma, i didn't feel bored at any point. The majority of the hooks and beats here are so damn memorable, and there's a plenty of genius verses too.
I can't complain about pretty much anything, it's a really nice listen

so many interludes were definitely unnecessary, but some of them are fun

best: Gasoline Dreams; So Fresh, So Clean; Ms. Jackson; Spaghetti ... read more

so addicting, my first time really listening to full on jam packed outkast album.

Hey Ya was my bop when I was like 5/6 in 2007 and this god tier album already in my books, SO now imma have to listen to all the other albums uh oh.

Not the biggest fan of "Snappin and Trappin", I love killer mike but the track is very much the most average hip hop song and most the time I sorta skip it in the like 20 times I've listened to this album in the last 8 days

Now this is how to make a political Hip Hop album correctly.Take notes Em rather than just dissing Trump for being racist, sexist, yatiyatiya.Rather than being preachy this album mostly focuses on storytelling.Musically it is extremely funky and has that early 2000s Southern Hip Hop vibe which I am not a big fan of but it mixes so well with the album naturally. Also a great album for people trying to get into Hip Hop.

Welcome to the new millennium of hip-hop. Total game changer. Any time I question whether this is truly their best, all doubt is removed as soon as I hear the barrage of Alrights Andre spews to open up Gasoline Dreams. Stop trying to be counterculture, Stankonia haters, and accept it. I could make cases for BOB or Ms Jackson being the greatest song of all time. The skits don't really hold this back and actually inject personality IMO. Despite the massive commercial appeal, they still were able ... read more

Yeah, it’s a another masterpiece fellas. With a great variety of beats and some iconic tracks OutKast really lives up to being one of the best to ever do it. Although I could talk all day on why Andres better I think Big Boi was still a great addition to outkast and the duo wouldn’t be what it is without him. Hate on MRS Jackson the song all you want for being mainstream and overrated compared to there other songs but the song is STILL A GREAT SONG. Despite being overplayed by ... read more

This is a classic babbbbbbbbyyyyyyyy

OutKast has some of their best, most energetic, anthemic songs on here. They effortlessly pull from multiple genres and sounds, from rap-rock to funk. Lots of funk. And there isnt a bad song on here, but you could say the same for OutKast's top 3 (Aquemini, ATLiens, Stankonia.) The reason why THIS is my favorite is because of the amount of energy on here. My only problem is that there are too many interludes filling up the album that dont add much of ... read more

OutKast‘s fourth album is yet another excellent effort from the Southern giants. Stankonia is a musical masterpiece, as was Aquemini, as was ATLiens, and as was their debut Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and it cemented OutKast’s status as one of Hip Hop biggest and best-selling acts ever.
