Trick may well be his masterpiece, combining all the elements that have made him such an enduring and much-loved musician over the years to create a genre-bending classic.
Trick is comfortably Jamie T’s best album so far, showing off every element he can and touching many bases without ever feeling like the contrast is jarring.
Jamie T.'s fourth long-player is a return to the infectious and rebellious spirit of his first two records. Trick is also his best work to date.
Despite his grander statements falling flat and a mid album slump, Trick sees Jamie T at his absolute best.
‘Trick’ is a record that feels like a trip back into what he once was, only with all his senses heightened. ‘Grudge’ was polished; this is as rough and ready as it gets.
I mean it is a pretty good album but i feel Jamie T played it a bit safe which is fine here because it is still quite enjoyable I just wish there was just more to get excited about.
