While I don't think it is the masterpiece some make it out to be, I do think it is one of my favorite projects of him. Considering I am more of a fan of singer songwriter Bruce instead of rockstar Bruce, I was a bit more fond of this album even if there are some forgettable moments.

I'll be the first to admit that lyrics generally aren't the main thing I focus on when consuming music. I love good lyrics, of course, and the right lyric can elevate a song SO much, but generally I'm a music-first kind of person. In fact, many of my favourite songs of all time I probably couldn't sing every lyric to. With "Nebraska", you don't get given that option. I have been told that this is an amazing album before and I can see why people would think that, but it's really just not my thing lol. Still some good stuff though.

Bruce had already successfully experimented with the kind of lyricism that depicts the lives of people on the United States heartland, most notably on 'Darkness on the Edge of Town'. 'Nebraska' digs deeper on those characters and is more profoundly represented by them.
