Before 'Snoop Lion', The Doggie Dogg went R&B for a primarily love song oriented album for gangstas to sex their bitches to. The result was better than his latter genre change and actually, the resulting album is as it boasts, an underrated masterpiece of sorts.
Painfully boring RnB songs. Really not much that saves this album other than Drop It Like It's Hot.

After all these years, this album aged very solid.
I have a problem with Snoop's albums (of course with some exceptions), I have trouble to enjoy them from start to finish.
There are always some weak or bad songs between good and hit records. It's the case with this album as well, but not to that extent.
The Neptunes all over the album with good production overall.
Snoop sounds great even on some slower r&b songs, but a prefer straight hip hop songs from him. Couple of smash hits in ... read more
