The debut from Lightning Bolt! It's barely an album, and it certainly doesn't feel like the band's mission statement for what they want to achieve in the future. This is like Schlagenheim, containing the fierce, improvisational energy of a live performance, but with the rudimentary proficiency of two third graders banging pans together. I've been a fan of Lightning Bolt's work for a while now, ever since I saw a video of an unreal live performance of Dead Cowboy, so I thought it'd be fun to check out their whole discography. Starting with their self-titled debut, I'm pretty sure I can sum it up in just one word: loud.
