Stereo Mind Game is indie folk at its finest.
An album of scope and dynamism, sometimes hushed but tooled for outreach on the urgent Dandelion and baleful Neptune, where a choir lifts Tonra’s sunken vocal.
Daughter find a little more hope in the melancholy on their dazzling new album Stereo Mind Game.
This is all very Daughter (and very good).
To those who were uninitiated in Daughter’s discography, Stereo Mind Game is an excellent entry point to further explore their enveloping arrangements. Here, they incorporate elements from their discography whilst demonstrating that they are moving in a very positive direction with a more developed and intriguing sound.
Produced by Tonra and bandmate Igor Haefeli, Stereo Mind Game is an album that sounds like it was assembled with care, as Daughter change things up while remaining instantly familiar.
Stereo Mind Game certainly sustains an atmosphere, but it's a brooding and bleak one, and at times the darkness of Daughter's dream pop can feel a bit suffocating.
Emotionally captivating!
I've heard quite a bit about Daughter in the indie folk scene, especially they've had 2 Top 20 albums and a breakthrough single in 2013 titled 'Youth'.
The English indie folk trio's third album Stereo Mind Game, which is their first project since 2016, takes on themes of feeling separated from loved ones and from yourself.

I came across Daughter not too long ago from my Spotify DJ, and I realized they released an album this year that I missed! So I decided to check it out.
I was excited because from what I've heard, they have this very sad Dream Pop Rock vibe that's exactly my cup of tea, so I was pumped.
And yeah, this project is definitely in my lane, I really like it a lot! Such an eargasmic listen. Definitely helped me calm down before a stressful day at school. I even get little Slowcore vibes here and ... read more
This is what helps to be yourself and enjoy life, an amazing record from one of the best shoegaze bands on the planet. This album raises the level and increases the raised bar.

Short Review
What a wonderfully performed cute little dream pop record. There was also rock influences as well but I felt the dreamy production soar through. Vocally this album was a pleasure, truly relaxing and beautiful. There’s some really great tracks on this album that have really great narratives and are written solid. The emotion on this album was expressed very well through these slow moving guitar tracks and this whole album is a wonderful vibe, it’s moving and I find it to ... read more
I think the best way to describe this is simple but beautiful.
The instrumentals are super detailed and intricate, and every single song feels refreshing to hear. Elena's vocals are incredible throughout, and she's really selling the emotion.
The whole idea of "Stereo Mind Game" is also very interesting as a metaphor, and it really resonated with me this year. I often found myself playing the album whenever I wanted to relax at night, or when I had a flash of inspiration to be ... read more
