Ultimately, there is plenty of down-tuned, palm-muted, polyrhythmic madness here for those looking. But Periphery V feels like definitive proof that they’re so much more than that.
Lucrative djentlemen (ew) across the world, do better; the rest of you, sit back and ponder the fact that Periphery III: Select Difficulty is somehow still worse than this horseshit.

Okay now that we got that out of the way, an hour and 10 minutes? That has me a little scared, but hopefully it'll fly by fast.
Now, based on the singles, I was expecting this to be good, I LOVED Wildfire but maybe wasn't crazy about Atropos.
So my expectations were decent and I was somewhat excited, especially because of Wildire, since I'm really not a fan of their older stuff. So was it good?

This scene really stopped having exciting/new ideas years ago, but Periphery manage to keep their records at least partially entertaining through strong performances and an ear for good melodies
Periphery somehow keeps getting better, they even defeated their own genre.
Their most dense & complex song ideas to date.
i thought periphery was really ok previously, but here they’re actually pretty hard hitting while also being semi interesting. it’s cool
This feels like a very complete record with numerous interesting ideas and some very powerful moments.
