It initially feels fragile, but Carvings is hard to shake off.
Carvings is a more considered affair, stepping back from first-person confessional into a wider canvas of community, place and time.
With Norwegian musician Juni Habel, prepare yourself to be charmed. Her second album "Carvings" is one pleasant moment to spend.
The writing is very affectionate and delicately carried by Habel's lovely vocal performance. The first three songs alone already carry the album with their superb music and charismatic tone. While the rest of "Carvings" does feel more familiar, it's never boring and always brings a hug to the heart.
A nice little folk record that starts really strong with the gorgeous Rhythm of the Tides but doesn’t sore to those heights again unfortunately
