Usher’s new album offers good, serviceable R&B that adds to his already expansive catalog.

Gosh, why all of the major r&b albums this year suck so bad?

The odd thing I’ve noticed about Usher’s career renaissance the past year or so has been less a change in what he’s doing and more recognition that the culture hadn’t been giving him enough attention for whatever reason. Yes, he’s very much riding on his legacy - that’s how you get a Vegas residency and perform at the Super Bowl to persistent acclaim - and sure, the classic albums were decades behind him, but I’m willing to bet that most folks outside ... read more

If what Usher wanted was to drop a 60 minutes bloated record full of corny, repetitive, wannabe pop hits and ballads, he is even 15 years late to achieve that

The fact that we live in a world in which releasing an album days before you perform the Super Bowl Halftime Show is considered kind of a "novelty" goes to show how... fucking old Usher is. Damn! We hear basically nothing from dude for nearly 10 years, aside from a bland-ass Zaytoven project and a few features, only for him to pop up out of nowhere again in 2023 with a string of singles I mostly liked. One of them even got him rising up the pop charts again. In 2023. Crazy. I guess ... read more

A quirky homecoming for USHER. I guess he thinks he's a big enough star to get away with low effort + high quality stuff. Could be considered as less generic than other stuff like this, yet considerably boring. Goes through the motions more often than not, occasionally doing some other curious things while staying underwhelming.

The weird mix of silly seduction on "BIG" stands out uncomfortably, even though it's got a decent groove in there. It's like most of these, where it tries to ... read more

It's not the most groundbreaking album, and it's pretty far from even Usher's best work. But it serves its purpose and does its job. Some of the tracks are ruined by the lyrics, and some of the tracks have really boring production. Bring back the beats from 90s to 00s, please.
Oh and there's no fucking way this is worse than JLo.

Another very bland and generic R&B album.

I think we could have done without an Usher comeback in 2024.

Despite riding the wave of momentum of headlining the halftime show of the Super Bowl, Usher could not capitalize by delivering a quality album with more eyes on him. His days of quality songwriting and creative tropes are long behind him, and what we're left with on COMING HOME is an attempt to remain in the spotlight for more time that was originally allotted to him.

There are a couple standout songs, most notably Stone Kold ... read more

I'll say it: I really like A-Town Girl, I thought it slapped. There are some bangers form this new USHER record, but it ultimately falls short beauce it's just like other old artists trying to fit with the new sound, they just sound so damn generic and formulaic.

Top 5 Tracks: Good Good (Best), A-Town Girl, One Of Them Ones, Kissing Strangers, Ruin

An album a day 2024
"Your lost your girl to Usher!? I could see if it was a real gentleman like T.I I'd be like that's T.I but Usher??"
I can't lie this is background music but I'm not an Usher Fan, If my girl was Alicia Know I'd get it back in blood.
Good Good (The most relatable song but I wouldn't be happy if they found a new man, like what is blud on) Song goes on for way to long too. 21 should've happened earlier or just been deleted.
Wasn't Keep on Dancing already a song?

Not as much of a hater on this one as everyone else seems to be. This record is quintessential USHER. Is it the best USHER record ever? Obviously not. But is this one project that is paving the way for USHER to potentially have the best year of his career? Yes. Really enjoyed the first half of the album. I thought A-Town Girl was corny, but not at all "worst song of the year." We really need to stop calling any & all sampled tracks the worst song of the year especially in February ... read more

It's sad and unexpected that Usher's comeback would be so bad, I find it hard to belive that even with 2 feats with popular artists(Jung Kook and 21Savage) this album would be so bad and low rated. Anyway there s only one song here thats a banger and that is Cold Blooded featuring The-Dream.

I think he should retired after this. Usher has good, fun, and interesting project (his last album interesting but ended up being mid a f). This is gonna hurt his legacy coz how boring it is.

Coming Home feels like a triumphant return for Usher, not only commercially but personally too. It's his first solo album in 8 years and shows almost all of his strenghts: whether it's smooth R&B love songs or energetic party bangers.
The record sounds current but at the same time doesn't try too hard to chase after trends. It's one of my favorite albums of his already.

Highlights: Coming Home, Good Good and Stone Kold Freak.

Usher is a Zionist! Donate to the link below to help provide food and humanitarian aid to the starving citizens in Palestine. Don't let anyone tell you that this war isn't one sided. Don't let anyone tell you that you cannot make a difference. Finally, listen to what the holocaust survivors have to say! We were not put on this earth to remain individualistic and immensely selfish!

CareForGaza is legit btw!!!

By the time I reached the song 'BIG,' I realized there was nothing that could redeem this album.

To say this is bad would be an understatement. Lyrics - awful.
Subject matter - awful.
Production - okay.
Usher's voice - excellent (auto tune?)
Starts in a reasonable manner and we don't only go downhill from here- we nosedive.
Usher's main confession - he can't make a new album.

a nothing new or surprising album with decently auditory singles.

Came onto this album after hearing and seeing Usher’s Super Bowl performance and…
Well, While there are several tracks on here that are mediocre and at times suck total ass, this album did sound better than I thought it would.
Usher definitely has better material (Confessions is still great and no one can change my mind) and the bad songs on here do suck, but Usher himself still sounds tolerable vocally, which is impressive giving how long he’s been doing his career for. ... read more

I'm actually surprised none of these tracks were played at the Super Bowl tbh
Song-writing wise, this album does not hold itself up in the slightest, but as an actual album, this is as fun as he gets. It's not like Usher is setting out to withhold an album with a title as the "ultimate release"; he just stays consistent with what he enjoys, which, in this case, turns out to be a fun R&B record. And, although this album doesn't have the MOST substance, it's fun at ... read more
