With Big Picture, Lily segues from the antagonistic postures of previous work, committing more pointedly to self-examination.
Lily's clean and refined songwriting on Big Picture has her following in the footsteps of the similarly polished and venerable Laura Marling while sharing an emotionally intuitive sharpness and tongue-in-cheek propensity with fellow contemporaries like Lucy Dacus and Phoebe Bridgers.
Fenne Lily turns a crisis into healing indie folk on Big Picture.
simple and dreamy, "big picture" is one of the most pleasant albums i listened to this year so far. lots of this album is packed with introspective lyricism and sparce instrumentation. combined with a beautiful backdrop and a soft and flowy voice that fenne lily displays throughout the entire project, the album always is on a high. at every point, i just felt relaxed and welcomed. nothing ever deviated too hard from the formula because it didn't need to. plus, the one-two punch of ... read more

Overall, Lily's ... read more
some pretty and understated singer-songwriter music with evocative and melancholy lyrics, although the quietness of the record can leave the music itself feeling a bit intangible.
