It feels nice to hear something that sounds so nostalgic and not at all artificial. Simple, deep lyrics and smoothing guitar.
I missed anything memorable on this album and I gave 3 chanches to this album. There is nothing wrong with this album but there is nothing special either.
Trust me, there is nothing that constitutes such a high critical rating. This album is dull, lacking the flavor that an indie album needs to be outstanding and worth spending hours of one's life listening to. It's bland, boring, tasteless, basically the same as another underground indie album. Based upon sound all the songs sound exactly the same so if you don't like the first one don't bother listening to the rest of it.
Best songs:
- Once Upon an Acid Glance
- Bridget St John
- Money
Critics wouldn't overrate albums that seem mid.
Honestly, it's not really that bad. I kinda enjoy some of the tracks here. I don't think it deserves to be the top at this point for critics, but I can see why people like this. At times it can seem boring or just not engaging, however there are still some enjoyable tracks here. I'm very mixed on his vocals, I can't find whether to like it or not. It's something I don't mind, there aren't any like bad songs really, just a few good ones while the ... read more
OK album - first word that comes to mind is "safe." It's certainly approachable but I can't find anything below surface level that would warrant more than two spins of this album. Frontman is kind of cool, nothing else stood out to me.
Not my brand of music, much like the album cover the songs fade quickly into the blurry ether. Critics be damned.
bro im gonna die im my mid 30's I drink a 20 oz of pepsi like every 24 hours why can't water taste amazing
Not as immediate as his previous album, but still just as good. Perfect melding of lyrics and delivery.
I also love partaking in violent acts of treason and arson after listening to this album.

High rated albums with a singer-songwriter tag are often disappointing. This album has little to show in term of songwriting and fails to develop its sound. Some songs are nice but there's little variation among them. Definitely overrated; I side with the AOTY users on this.
I swear The Skinny rated everything 100, I feel like it was made by an AI and does stupid shit.
not as exciting as his previous release but really cool seeing this guy become more popular and get guests like ABS involved
