I'm a big fan of Slaves and love the music they're producing right now. It's punk, it's different, and it's modern. The only problem I see with Slaves is the lack of progression in their music and limitations they face being a two-piece punk-rock band. Despite this, I have no doubt that Laurie and Isaac will experiment with new ideas and concepts to continue progressing their sound and produce more loud, obnoxious albums in the future.

While tracks like Steer Clear and Fuck The Hi Hat do enough to make you feel like Slaves have evolved at all since their last venture as well as managing to spice up the overly long running time of this record, too much filler and not enough killer seems to be Slave’s Achilles’s heel. With more diversity and new sounds this time around, Slaves puts out a very mixed feelings record. The record starts off extremely well with tracks like Spit it Out, Consume or Be Consumed and Rich Man, but from Lies and forward it's not every song that works quite well, with weird production choices and kind of unshure song structures it kind of gets dulled out for a while, i would actually go as far as to say that the only good songs on Side B are People that you Meet and Same again.
