This Album Title Is Too Long and Kinda Pretentious (But, The Music Is Very Nice So We Good)
Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted to see the Northern lights. Sure, I can look at them from afar on my computer screen, but let's be honest, nothing can compare to standing under the aurora borealis in all of its illustrious glory. Plenty of other similarly beautiful sights across the world are out of my reach, though I have always been fixated on this one specifically. Why? Is it the blinding ... read more
Spiral into anxiety!
I've been aware of Yves Tumor's name for a few months, having been compelled by their musical aesthetic & use of imagery.
When I heard their comeback single "God Is a Circle", I was just instantly fascinated by Yves' use of art-rock that was simultaneously raw and rife with infectious energy.
Thankfully, this album still carries that same level of energy as that single promised and it offers so much more to the table as well.
Lyrically, Praise a Lord Who ... read more
Why would you put the word Tumor in your artist name? lol
Anyways, I knew nothing about this artist/band but decided to check this out since everybody's talking about it.
And unfortunately, I think it's one of the most boring albums of the year so far. It's slow and sluggish and feels like it just exists, there's no moment that catches my attention or blows my mind. Very mediocre, the 37 minutes feel like an hour.
It feels like it has no sauce, very tasteless and boring. It's inoffensive, ... read more
Ok guys, I admit it.
This is my first time hearing a Yves Tumor album. I felt unmotivated to check this out for a multitude of reasons, mostly because I’ve considered taking a break from this site and that the one song I’ve heard from him already bored me.
But once I heard this album, this thing blew me away. It sounded a lot better to me. It felt less lazy to me, even though that one song probably wasn’t made lazily to begin with. It was much more engaging than the song ... read more
Deep Dive Review
Yves Tumor is an act that I've been following for some time now. Their abstract but hypnotic 2018's "Safe In The Hands Of Love" matched neo-psych and post-industrial elements for one of the most distorted and unique listening experiences. I liked it at the time, but their music didn't fully click for me until 2020's fiery "Heaven To A Tortured Mind." Channeling the spirits of funk, punk, and soul greats like Prince, Grace Jones, The Cure amongst others, ... read more
This the shit boutta make me sacrifice a goat to meet the ghost of Paul McCartney (he ain’t dead yet but I suspect it’s coming soon).
Overall a great album full of psychedelia and a whirlwind of emotions that I haven’t experienced since the Yachty album. I would say the biggest complaint that I have if I were to choose one is Yves’ inability to fully display the talent, primarily the personality Yves has, but nonetheless wonderful production with good vocals, this is ... read more
So, I didn't know who Yves Tumor was before listening to this. I feel a little bit set up, because the opener, God Is A Circle, made me think this will be a much darker sounding album than it actually is. Now, what we got is phenomenal, it's just not what I expected. The first thing I noticed are the great basslines. I love me some fat ass basslines so I really appreciate that almost every song has one. Yves vocals are mostly really good, I like the fact that they can use their voice in so many ... read more
This is my first project from this artist and honestly the first time I've heard about Yves Tumor, I was pretty intrigued by the album cover and the genres of the album, But I was quite underwhelmed with the overall album.
There are definitely plenty of positive points here, The production here is very solid on most of the tracks, There is great variety within the soundscapes the album offers and every idea is very detailed and rich, Throughout the tracklist there are some standouts that I ... read more

Easily Yves best release yet. Damn this Is great. Really did not expect to love this as much as I do but again, this album is just amazing.
It immediately pulls you in and keeps you engaged every damn second of it without ever wasting your time.
What a cool new music Friday bruh. Did not expect to get such a great album. I honestly wasn’t prepared for this.

A grandiose return by Yves Tumor that i think lives up to their previous albums, while still setting itself apart. Second half is definitely weaker than the first half but Ebony Eye is an incredible closer to this album.
FAVORITE TRACKS: God Is a Circle, Lovely Sewer, Meteora Blues, Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood, Echolalia, Fear Evil Like Fire, Purified by the Fire, Ebony Eye
ALRIGHT TRACKS: Parody, Operator, In Spite of War
DISLIKED TRACKS: Interlude
Yves Tumor can’t miss!
The production on this record is incredible. The soundscapes are so rich, and I love the post-punk influences here as well. This may be Tumor’s most consistent project yet, as each track sets the great psychedelic atmosphere that we’ve come to expect from them. Occasionally I thought the vocals here were a bit dry but I was so mesmerized by the production that it wasn’t too big of an issue for me. Yves Tumor is such a unique artist and I ... read more
As someone who loved their previous album, I feel really bad for not liking this. This tries really hard to be cool, but it falls so flat and it feels really underwhelming.
Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume long title and amazing album. My first time listening to they music and I am amazed by the vocals on this album, very magical and blissful. The production is great and adds some bizarre aesthetics to the listening.
Their Talent Eclipses Both Dying and Radiant Stars Like Eternal Supernovas (Or Simply, Yves Tumor Does It Again)
This album is simultaneously one of my most anticipated releases of the year as well as one that I was most nervous for, simply due to the room created by its predecessor, "Heaven To A Tortured Mind", being one of my favorite releases of 2020 as well as containing possibly my song of the year, "Gospel For A New Century". I knew Yves Tumor was gonna bring us back ... read more
I reviewed this album for Northern Transmissions, so if you want to know my thoughts on it, check it out.

(but I was so nervous while writing it that it may not be that good, but I tried my best)
What an incredible album, definetly one of the best of the year by far. No surprise, I didn’t knew who this artist was until this album pop out in this site and everybody started talking about it. Usually I’m not a fan of this style of punk but it works so well with the artistic vision that the artist brought to the table.
First of all, the production is amazing especially on the drums omfg it sounds so good and clear, and the atmosphere is great with the composition of the songs, ... read more
