FINALLY, a return to form for Darkthrone! They've always been at their best when they're playing what they were born to play--cold, hateful black metal. They're back, baby!
A few years later, Fenriz and his gang return with another powerhouse of a record, Arctic Thunder. This album sees the band returning a little to their roots, not necessarily to the dirty, raw black-metal core of the 90s, but certainly bringing in some of the energic riffage and instrumental oblivion that made them standout amidst the many groups of the emerging black-metal scene in Norway, at the time.
