*Edit: no longer my favorite ajj album.*
I think this is their best album. Maybe a controversial opinion? Sure, there are some musical detours that make me ask why, such as the kazoo sonata, but the highs are so fucking amazing. This album is slightly more of a mixed bag when it comes to lyrical themes than the previous album. Which I actually like, I like the variety. Also that album art... that’s beautiful.
“I subsist on a steady diet of shame” Big facts
Among their finest works, it takes everything that made People Who Can Eat People so great (and Only God Can Judge Me) and progresses that sound even further. Not perfect but it's one of the more satisfying records in their arsenal.

Favorites: You Don't Deserve Yourself, White Face Black Eyes, Self Esteem, Heartilation, Truckers Are The Blood, Oldy Timey, Kazoo Sonata in C Maj
favorite track: Sense, Sensibility
Inconsistent and all over the place from lyrics to instrumentals. But, this is a much more blissful and uplifting record compared to the band's previous album (even with the depressing title and album art). None of these songs are super outstanding, but the album goes on from song to song in a very smooth way, even with drastic changes in the songs.

fav tracks: Truckers Are The Blood, Self-Esteem
