So, you see the album cover, and you are like oh, this lloks like a nice calming folk record probably with some nice introspective and lyrics. Then Come Here Woman starts playing and you go "Oh wait, this isn't going to be a Contemporary Folk album". Starsailor is anything apart from a peaceful listen with its cryptic and dark lyrics and avant-garde style of folk. It immediately becomes apparent that you are in for a weird, psychedelic and hypnotic listen to the manic ... read more

The myriad of sounds on display here are uncompromising, and yet undeniably poignant. Also the fact that both Tim and his son Jeff are able to hit that same note at the peaks of their songs makes me indescribably happy.

Standout: Jungle fire
favs: Star Sailor, I woke up, Down by the Borderline, Song to the siren, Come here woman, Monterey, Healing festival

Least fav: Moulin rouge

Man is this cover deceitful. This is 100% guaranteed to scare the hoes.

Buckley's sixth album is another venture into avant-garde jazz, experimental rock, and vocal performance camouflaging as a folk album. Every song on here is packed with so much energy and life; not to mention Buckley's vocals, which I can only describe as 'animalistic yodeling.' In a good way, obviously.

Favorite tracks: Monterey, Moulin Rouge, Song to the Siren, Jungle Fire, Down by the Borderline

One of the most underrated artists of his generation.
