The most influential figure in punk music, Iggy Pop turns 70 today, he still remains as the only alive member of the Holy Trinity that consisted of Lou Reed, David Bowie, and of course Iggy. Thankfully he is still active in the music industry, while The Idiot, his debut album, is his best solo release so far.

It has a huge Bowie touch and that's probably why it is great. I like how cheesy the music sounds, this album really defines Iggy's style.

Pop and Bowie... Pulling off a brilliant collaboration with deft aplomb. How these guy's managed such accomplishment given our knowledge of their gargantuan drug habit is way outside of my IQ. Regardless, "The Idiot" presents the uninitiated with a right proper start. My suggestion: Buy it. Tight on budget? Borrow it from your local library. Tracks 1-3 and 5 are classic. What a melding of British Rock and American Punk... Did I ask you to buy it? Yes. Now, just do it.
