Brian Eno please kick me in the balls


Brian Eno is a fucking madman! In 1977 alone, he collaborates with Cluster, a German Electronic and Krautrock duo, on an album, he helps Bowie make 2 of his best records of all time, Low and "Heroes", and he makes this fantastic piece. This record also includes collaborations with the aforementioned Cluster, Jaki Liebezeit of Can, Dave Mattacks of Fairport Convention, Robert Wyatt of Soft Machine, Phil Collins and Robert Fripp, among others.

After listening to the amazing "Another Green World" I came to this album with a lot of expectations and after finishing it I have to say...I'm disappointed. It's not that this is a bad album but it has no otherworldly sound or many genius points like AGW. It's just a nice experimental rock album with some boring parts.

A project split in two, Eno explores his roots and his newfound interests in this soothing album. While the whole thing is fairly subdued, the first half shows a lot of his glam and rock roots at work, employing familiar faces for help such as Fripp and Collins. From the groove of Backwatet and King's Lead Hat to the lounge of Energy Fools the Magician, there's nothing new here, but it was never really broken in the first place so you won't find me complaining.
