AllMusic

The Show is his most immediate and engaging set to date, endlessly listenable and full of heart and charm.

Overall, this is undoubtedly Niall Horan’s finest and most mature album to date – and was certainly worth the wait.

The Independent
Horan’s emotional acuity, his musicianship, and confidence in his own instincts are there for all to see.

Rolling Stone
One Direction's Irish bard is full of feelings as he approaches thirty.

Short but sweet, his third album reminds us that former One Direction alumni beyond Harry Styles are available.

Dork
Characteristically candid, ‘The Show’ is a collection of songs about love and fear, but more than that, it’s a collection of songs filled with hope. Whether you’re seeking it, sustaining it, or somewhere in between, these songs are here for you.

The Line of Best Fit
While no wheels have been reinvented, The Show is far from a bad record. If you’ve spent any time trying to imagine what a new Niall album would sound like, you’re probably pretty close.

The Telegraph
The blend of genres means that he doesn’t fully manage it here, but, other than Styles, it’s evident he has the most promising future outside of One Direction.

NO NUANCE REVIEW

Harry Styles has next to completely soured on me, but nothing reminds me of how much his discography is the best case scenario like when one of his former band mates releases something new.

Man I can't wait to hear most of these songs next time I'm at the supermarket!!!

This record actually starts off decent, then descends into boring and commercial pop from around the halfway point. The better tracks on here show a mature side to Niall's songwriting that I wish he'd lean towards more often, flexing his potential as an artist. However, it's mostly just radio pop and lazy clichéd tropes for the rest, with shallow lyrics and a basic-as-hell pop formula used everywhere. It ... read more

I wasn’t sure if would like this, But here we are.

Thr Show is a pretty complete experience compared to his last release “Heartbreak Weather”.
The first track is the main single, “Heavan” and I love that song. Other than Heaven, I enjoy self titled track “The Show”, besides those two, there isnt too much else thats all that interesting, the rest is basic pop music.

Overall “The Show”, is a decent release and an improvement for Niall.
