I've definitely grown out of this phase. I haven't listened to FIDLAR since high school, and thought I'd give this a listen. I kind of like the punk instrumentals, but I can't stand the lyrics. Lyrics feel like there written by an over emotional and edgy highschooler who has barely experiences life or a out of touch 30-year-old who still is trying to write songs for teens when they should instead evolve lyrically with their listeners who liked them when there were teens and are now ... read more

That's Life is like Hannah Montana, but for edgy boys who just started high school.

I haven't listened to FIDLAR since 'Too' came out in 2015, back when I was 16 and filled with teenage boy edgy angst so when I saw that they had released a new album, I decided to give it a listen and wow... a bad choice. Had this album been a debut album from a group of 16-year-old boys I might have forgiven the faux angsty corny lyrics and knock off Blink - 182 guitar riffs but this is an album from a band who have been releasing music for nearly 15 years and whose leading man is 35 years ... read more

A little surprise for the big fans of the cult band, whose name stands for "Fuck It Dawg, Life's a Risk." This album sounds like the soundtrack for a remake of "Kids," or like Blink-182 and Sum 41 if they succumbed to the Post-Brexit New Wave fever of recent years. There's also a fun interpolation of the 2000s hit "Where's Your Head At."

Pretty alright. Has its enjoyable moments. Sounds like if you mashed the Wombats's first album and some of the noisier, screaming parts of "The Revenge of Hobo Johnson" together. Didn't hate it, but it didn't really do too much for me. At its worst, it bored or irritated me me. At its best, it mildly entertained me. The lyrics range from decent to cringe, edgy high schooler core. I think On Drugs and Sand On The Beach had fun vibes to them and That's Life sounded like a mix of MCR's ... read more

FSU is a certified banger which is weird but no one liked it lmao. Everything else meh, I think this falls flat on the Punk Spectrum, or even the more mainstream Punk Pop catchy tracks and it just was not very impressive.
FSU, I dont care I liked it.

Most tolerable track is sand on the beach
Everything else is mid or terrible

Didn't know Lil Pump 2 was a pop punk album (for real, lyrically it's the same thing).

I guess Centipede is okay. Um...screaming about drugs, drugs, sex, and uh drugs. There's the EP for you.

The perfect soundtrack for Netflix's next teen show.
Production is fine tho.

First leg of the ep is just great. Great flow between Centipede, On Drugs and Sand on the Beach. After that the record falls a bit off for me, especially with FSU, which feels too forced edge for me.
I still got three great standalone tracks out of this collection, but as a coherent piece, it falls a bit short.

yeahhhhh... so this wasn't good

I will give it to the guy for having nice socks but this album has some terribly cringey lyrics and suffers from the blink-182 effect of sounding like an old man trying to relive his highschool years and "get fucked up!" and having a bunch of irresponsible sex. The screaming on this album is pretty bad too and seems very out of place as well as being subpar its just all around not good whenever it happens. Pop punk should not be revived and this is a ... read more

FIDLAR bring the energy on the jaded "That's Life," even if a few tracks, namely "Sand on the Beach" and "Taste the Money," don't have the same off-the-wall, batshit appeal as, say, "FSU" or "Centipede."
