Yeah decided to not listened to this. Learned some stuff about Melanie. Kinda ruined it for me

melanie martinez fans when someone else has an opinion (it will certainly affect their ability to like the music and is also 100% a personal attack they should respond to angrily)
Attended a release party recently.
Initial thoughts on the album are positive. Will update once HQ version releases on the 31st.
So I listened to this album at a listening party, and it was very mid. Not as bad as the first two, but immediately less memorable and less distinct. She’s taking a lot more inspiration from art pop, singer-songwriter, and folk music, but they feel less like Melanie and more like copies of the people she’s drawing her inspiration from. As I was lucky enough to attend a listening event and hear the album play through a few times I feel like I can form enough of a coherent thought to try and explain some early rough thoughts about this record.
DISCLAIMER: This is more of my general thoughts of what I heard, I was not able to fully interpret every lyric, so a more in-depth review is to come.
