Any of this can describe BOC. They keep their tongue in their cheek while pointing at their nose and knowingly winking, veering into the orbit of parapolitics with a muscles and hard-ons. It's a world of espionage, the occult, and evil and these boys are here to tell you about it. That or they're just here to rock. They do both well with a needed sense of urgency and fun and it owns.
Hard rock is one of the many entire genres, like post-grunge and nu-metal, that have gotten a bad name over time among music critics, and it's not hard to see why. A majority of hard rock beyond a few notable exceptions like Alter Bridge (though even them only on a few albums) have become overly masculine cock rock or gym bro anthems about fighting against something or rising up without any real direction or purpose. This is just more hard rock but not by a band that knows that hard rock is lame so I have to dock it a few points for that. Some songs on here are kinda decent but god does most hard rock just do nothing for me. This was not bad music by any means and I'd only slightly shame you for liking it but it's an album that goes by without much thought and doesn't do a lot for me in the end.
