One of Blue Oyster Cult's strongest albums, with some of their best cuts such as Burnin' for You, Veteran of the Psychic Wars and some more underappreciated deeper cuts such as Vengeance but overall, Fire of Unknown Origin is a consistently fun and enjoyable Hard Rock album which also impact on the upcoming Heavy Metal scene.

This is by far the peak and also my favourite Blue Öyster Cult album. I feel like they took the consistency and amplified it to maximum. Every song is fun, diverse and has got something to like in it. Alright, maybe there were a few bummers, looking at you Heavy Metal: The Black And Silver, but honestly, it wasn't even bad. i like this album! my mom was a big fan, and she told me how her first ever concert was a tour after this album released. This was also my first ever vinyl record! I still like to come back to this record, cause ever since my mother passed its been one of the few things that makes me still feel like I'm near her. I love BOC, ... read more

It’s full of really catchy tunes with unique lyrics for the time, and I can’t get enough of it. Although it’s rather short with only 9 songs, each one feels distinct with a different shade of 80’s rock.

The title track starts off strong with a groovy bass line and mysterious lyrics, and sets the tone of the rest ... read more

Might be my personal lack of affinity towards the “80s metal” style but I couldn’t get into it. Veteran of the Psychic Wars and the title track were awesome though
