One of the weaker albums within the discography of Tom Waits, in my opinion. Blue Valentine is a creative landmark in terms of Waits career, due to him being able to have the opening track on this project-"Somewhere"-connect so well with audiences that it eventually found itself on the soundtrack for Westside Story. However, with success also comes failure; and for Waits this failure has to do with the memorablity of some of these tracks.
