After his 2 masterpieces, it was a safe bet to say that Mr. Waits couldn't necessary make it a hat trick but what we get is truly one of his finest dark cabaret albums and one of the best in the obscure sub genre. Even though this isn't the only time we will see this style of jazz experimental rock from the legendary artists i would argue it is his best attempt at with some amazing lyrics and some fantastic instrumentals and a nice moody poetic atmosphere.

So many excellent tracks in this set, the perfect sound for Waits fans, but Way Down in the Hole is the clear stand-out as one of his best songs.

According to Tom Waits' story, those years were wild for Frank but for the spectators, they were absolutely fascinating.
