Time Machine is the record of an artist searching for greater meaning but at the cost of fun.
This record is so generic that I don't even believe it's worth delving into the reasons for my low rating. Alma appeared to be a promising artist some years ago when Charli XCX featured her on the iconic 'Pop 2', and she did have some cool tracks, such as in her debut EP 'Heavy Rules Mixtape'. ALMA returns with her first full-length project in 3 years, but it falls short. Generic synth-pop and some basic lyrics.
A loose-concept album with the strong lyrics, for most of the time. I appreciate Alma as a songwriter, but it seems to me that she does it better for other artists rather than herself.
