This was a record that had something for everybody, building on the basic blueprint of Off the Wall by adding harder funk, hard rock, softer ballads, and smoother soul -- expanding the approach to have something for every audience.

Slant Magazine

No album, movie, or book should ever have to live up to the expectations attached to the label “biggest selling of all time.” Luckily for Michael Jackson’s Thriller, that moment has passed.

Entertainment Weekly

From the urgent funk of opener ”Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin”’ and sweet synth stutter of ”P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)” to the iconic rock stomp of ”Beat It,” Thriller offers pure, transporting euphoria in pop form.

There's no denying the fun and catchiness of Thriller. Michael Jackson, despite his morals, was a fantastic music artist and knew how to make excellent pop music. Thriller is one of the greatest showings of that.

Rolling Stone

The fiery conviction of Thriller offers hope that Michael is still a long way away from succumbing to the lures of Vegas. Thriller may not be Michael Jackson's 1999, but it's a gorgeous, snappy step in the right direction.

Tomorrow night will be spooky, and that's because Craigold and his clown crew are going out on the town, and getting ourselves some candy. The most powerful pop music record to date.

But oddly enough, "Thriller" is made much stronger by all of this. It's not just an album; it's a bona fide cultural phenomenon. This album's accessibility made ... read more

First of all, yes, this album is one of the best known in all history and one of the best rated, so everything I can say about it could be a hot take.

Obviously the singles overshadow the rest of the album but I liked some songs like Baby Be Mine, The Girl is Mine and The Lady in My Life.

And even though I may like Bad more as my favorite MJ album, I still think this is a good ... read more

I have conflicted feelings on MJ as a person but it’s undeniable this is one of the best pop albums ever made.

fuck you fantano, this shit amazing!

Are any of us really surprised that this is as amazing as it is? Not only is this the biggest selling album of all time, but this thing is stacked with banger after motherfucking banger! The mere fact that 6 out of the 9 tracks on here are tracks that are near and dear to my heart is something that very few albums can have bragging rights to. MJ fucking kills everything on this album, even on the tracks that I wasn't familiar with in the past. This is him ... read more
