At times emotionally pure, at others sounding like an aural orgasm, this is a work of music that most bands would be forced to hold their hands up to and admit that they just don't have the creativity to even begin thinking about making an album like this.

Maybe we will never know what Maggot Brain is about. Maybe it's about how messed up the world is. Maybe it isn't about anything at all. But, damn, it funks me up.

The title track is probably the greatest song to ever exist
Man, for a funk album this has so much more layers than I expected.
Finally, a great album I've listened to this week.

This week has probably been the worst week in terms of music for me. I'm talking about the new releases, just overall the music I listened to this week sucked so much, and even discovered my new least favorite album of all time, 11 Obscenely Optimistic Songs For Ukulele: A Micro-Folk Record For The 21st Century And Beyond by Jeremy Messersmith. In talladega nights, there is a scene where Ricky’s kids are running around and one shouts “anarchy,” and the other goes “I don’t know what that means, but I love it.” I have no idea what maggot brain is, but I love it.
