All of For Your Pleasure walks the tightrope between the experimental and the accessible, creating a new vocabulary for rock bands, and one that was exploited heavily in the ensuing decade.


Compared to other glam rock inspired album I have heard from this era, this one sounds particularly timeless. Sure it has its moments towards the later half that sound typical of its time but this album is equal parts experimental, engaging, and glam and I am here for it. It is much more in the vein of Bowie than Glitter and some of the arrangements on this project are phenomenal and I love the horn sections. “Every Dream” is such an excellent highlight.


I really wanted to like this record, but sadly I just don't get the hype.

After this record Eno left Roxy Music to become a singular inventor in the universe of Avantgarde-pop. So here we have the last record where the elegant stylish dandy-ism of Brian Ferry was countered by the genre defying weirdness of Eno. A pretty great sophomore album with some of their best tracks.


Eno was present for one more Roxy Music project, one that's considered their best. I'd have to think it would be for Bryan Ferry's extremely interesting approach to songwriting, and being unafraid to let such common foundations as rock n roll succumb to the synth and tape, to the chaos and the droll.
