ravi's 1956 album 'three ragas' drew me in with incredibly fast, sweeping notes and unparalleled precision from ravi. this project, on the other hand, works to demonstrate his raw musicality. it feels as though every note is purposeful, placed there to evoke the exact emotions that ravi wants me to feel. he manages to be surgical with his execution while still keeping a feeling of candidness, allowing me to be fully immersed in the album. this album ... read more
