The music is infinitely interesting, possibly more so than the artist singing it. But then again, you shouldn’t count out anyone releasing an album like Nightride.

Pretty Much Amazing

Airing-out her flairs on a nocturnal excursion, Tinashe flexes using that mixtape sound which brought her fame as both an artist and producer, presenting a young woman unabashedly confident in her sound and sexuality from verse #1:

AllMusic

Due to the seduction-oriented lyrical matter and dominance of leisurely tempos, its title could easily be taken as a euphemism.

Fka twigs is good and all but for melon to dismiss this album as an LP1 ripoff is one of his worst takes yet. Behind giving MBDTF a 6 and SWIMMING a 3.

More alternative and experimental than Aquarius, more dark too, but still with some pop bops, this is a deep dive into moody vibes as well. Great moments of vocals and instrumental/production mixtures managing that "mesmerizing effect". Some tracks I really like some moments but as a whole they don't hook me, but again, can't even point a track as a bad one.

FAVE TRACKS: Ride of Your Life, Lucid Dreaming, High Speed Chase, Party Favors, Company, Touch Pass, Spacetime.

One of my favorite RnB projects the 2010's had to offer. Tinashe perfectly balances between the accessible and experimental on this mixtape. The production is the moddiest, somber, and atmospheric in her whole discography.

Tinashe's pen game is the sharpest and the most sensual it's ever been and her soft, and intimate approach to the mic add so much more the sexual atmosphere she sets. Despite it's atmospheric feeling, there's so many catchy moments on this album! It's contemporary RnB done ... read more

C'est La Vie, Soul Glitch and Party Favors remain some of her best; You Don't Know Me, Spacetime, Ride of Your Life, & Touch Pass are also great!

Following up two label-mandated pop singles, "Player" featuring Chris Brown, and "Superlove", Tinashe releases a hazy, after-dark digital album that reminds the listener of both her roots and best talents. While 'Nightride' may not have radio-ready singles or powerful vocal moments like 'Aquarius', 'Nightride' is equally as interesting. Never slipping up from alternative R&B or breathy vocals this time, Tinashe invites the listener into what a road trip in her car on a ... read more
