Was told to skip this tape, but decided to check it out just to complete and cap off the Kendrick dive. I didn't expect this to be all that good, but damn this really was not great at all. There are some decent moments on here, like "Opposites Attract" and "Barbed Wire", but there really are no great or awesome moments on here. You can't ignore a mixtape featuring all-time great Kenny Jr. classics like P&P 1.5, Ignorance Is Bliss, Average Joe, and She Needs Me (Remix) featuring an absolutely IMMACULATE performance from Dommmmmm Kennedy. But man, Michael Jordan is right down there with No Make Up and GOD as a contender for worst Kendrick track ever.

(REVIEWING SPOTIFY VERSION)

Young Kendrick Lamar, first project in the charts and he already had it in him, great mixtape. Yes, Michael Jordan is easily one of the blandest tracks of his discog, but it's still somehow a banger, you have to admit that song has its charm.

WEEKLY KENDRICK MARATHON
#7: Overly Dedicated

Produced by and featuring solely TDE producers, artists and affiliates, 'Overly Dedicated' is the part of a rocky road to the immaculate success of the future 'good kid, m.A.A.d city'.

The main problem with this mixtape is consistency. Having some great highs, like ... read more
