This project from Ted Leo’s pre-pharmacists venture is overall a fun time, thought markedly it does lack a lot of the in-your-face punk pizazz that makes the pharmacists’ output Leo’s most inventive
From the build-up and explosion of opener "On Warmer Music", the one-two punk push of "It's Alright, You're O.K." and "The Mutable Mercury", through the acoustic atmosphere of "The Town Crusher", the smoothed out vibe of "River High", the powerhouse that is "Do Go On", another punk one-two in "Morley Timmons" and "The O.T.S.", and finishing with the lush organ and guitar driven outro with "The Last ... read more
Ted Leo is a songwriting genius, even if some of these tracks are a bit too sugary for my tastes sometimes it's still soso killer and underrated as helllll
