Pretty Much Amazing
Ajikawo knows she’s on her way to something new, and she enjoins us to follow her instead of white rabbits. She already knows where they’re going, and it’s not nearly as interesting as where she’s headed.

Exclaim!
With this fearlessly vulnerable, triumphantly anthemic album, Little Simz asserts herself among the queens of her genre.

NOW Magazine
Her experiences fit perfectly within the context of an early twenty-something simply trying to figure it all out. However, what elevates the album is the way she offers it. Simz is nicknamed Bars Simzson for a reason.

The Observer
The album’s mix of soul, R&B, grime and trippy, jazz-tinged interludes is at times a little muddled, but Simz’s lyrical agility and deft rapping sit comfortably with a variety of production styles.

Pitchfork

Stillness in Wonderland comes off more as a sparsely edited mixtape than a self-contained album: heavy on atmosphere, light on songs.

GIGsoup
As musically interesting as the record is, it sometimes sounds cluttered and too ‘vibe’ heavy, often at the expense of the songs.

The Needle Drop

The UK's Little Simz returns with a concept album about making the transition from ignorance to awareness.

Little Simz’s second LP has some fun and interesting concepts which are executed in diverse ways through its production but struggles to maintain a smooth listening experience.

This album showcases the creative depth of Little Simz’s range and willingness to implement different sounds and styles with some awesome production. It feels more complete than her debut, in that the mix sounds richer, the beats sound fuller, and the instrumentals are very well-established in the tracks. I ... read more

Stilness in Wonderland, aka Little Simz's best produced album is def a great album to play when u just want to vibe out. The atmospheric, jazzy, african influenced production on this album sort of gives me a woozy feel that just makes u want to look out into the sunset in a quiet place. I will say tho, the production kind of outshines Little Simz's lyricism due to her not going into the concept as well as I would have hoped. However, there are still lyrical gems on here like Shotgun, Doorways + ... read more

This album is pretty good, starts nicely and though some tracks in the middle were starting to get boring, the last couple tracks saved this from becoming a mess, I just wish there would've been less features, Little Simz is great on her own. Little Simz is a great lyricist and she's for sure one of the most exciting rappers working today, I love her stuff so far and there are still two albums left to check out.

Stillness in Wonderland is an ambitious, but convoluted album. It is rapper Little Simz second full-length LP, coming out a little over a year after her debut. Sonically and lyrically, it is quite different than its predecessor, featuring a more laid back, jazzy sound, and more introspective imaginative lyrics sound. It is supposed to be a concept album, loosely based on the world of Alice in Wonderland. However, the theme and the story the album tries to tell gets lost in all the ideas ... read more

Backseat should be on the standard edition of this album. With that said, this is album is NICE! Picture Perfect is such a banger of a track that just makes me want to mosh so bad. Shotgun is a vibe all the way through that I can't help but move to. Simz rapping is brisk and smooth. It sounds like she's having so much fun on this track, and because of that, I'm having fun. King Of Hearts is a cold grime cut that has an infectiously menacing presence. Chip and Ghetts fit on here perfectly. ... read more
