The Observer
The album’s mix of soul, R&B, grime and trippy, jazz-tinged interludes is at times a little muddled, but Simz’s lyrical agility and deft rapping sit comfortably with a variety of production styles.

As musically interesting as the record is, it sometimes sounds cluttered and too ‘vibe’ heavy, often at the expense of the songs.

The Needle Drop

The UK's Little Simz returns with a concept album about making the transition from ignorance to awareness.

Decent.

As much as I would like this album to please me, I think it is my least favorite of her career, so far it is her least solid album making a strange combination between Hip Hop, with some songs with touches of Neo-Soul, Jazz, well, I really didn't enjoyed this album, but it's not bad.

Favorite tracks: Doorways + Trust Issues, One In Rotation + Wide Awake, Picture Perfect, Bad To Bone, Zone 3, Poison Ivy, No More Wonderland.

Least favorite track: Shotgun.

Stilness in Wonderland, aka Little Simz's best produced album is def a great album to play when u just want to vibe out. The atmospheric, jazzy, african influenced production on this album sort of gives me a woozy feel that just makes u want to look out into the sunset in a quiet place. I will say tho, the production kind of outshines Little Simz's lyricism due to her not going into the concept as well as I would have hoped. However, there are still lyrical gems on here like Shotgun, Doorways + ... read more

The concept is fun to tag along with and some of the best songs are really catchy and vibey, great to get stuck in your head. But I'm listening off the deluxe, and it's quite a long front-to-end listen that isn't completely rewarding in that format. Too many lesser tracks that seem to come and go compared to the heavier hitters. However, picking the best songs to add to your Best Of Little Simz playlist will do just fine, as tracks like Doorways + Trust Issues, King of Hearts, Poison Ivy, No ... read more

Stillness in Wonderland is an album I really respect technically but didn't really connect with. The rapping and lyrics are wonderful and the production is once again pretty decent. I think the blending of different genres into her music is interesting but I think it might of sacrificed the albums cohesiveness as it all feels a little disconnected. The album also feels way too long to me. My favorite tracks are Doorways + Trust Issues, One In Rotation + Wide Awake, Low Tides and No More ... read more
