The German electronic act Kraftwerk's 4th album 'Autobahn' is quite the interesting electronic record, it's the first album from them I've heard and it makes sense why this record in particular is held in high regard as it really was something else for its time, granted not everything here is amazing to me but there's moments that intrigue me for sure, especially the massive opening track with its 20 minute runtime and its progressive structures. Love the overlapping synths and electronics on this thing, I don’t think it’s their most overtly conceptual record, but truth be told it doesn’t need to be.

It's amazing that a record this old can still sound so fresh. Given to the untrained ear they would have a difficult time guessing which year this LP was released. It's a testament to how forward thinking Kraftwerk was and how impactful their sound was on electronic and pop music. Autobahn is perhaps one of the most important records of the electronic genre right up there with Daft Punk's Homework.
